Our Commitment to Safety and Integrity
Water Polo NSW, in alignment with Water Polo Australia is fully committed to protecting children, young people, and all members in our sport. We encourage all water polo clubs throughout NSW to familiarise themselves with our safety policies and promote child safety within their communities.
We are dedicated to providing children and young people with positive and nurturing experiences while ensuring their protection from harm. Our goal is to maintain water polo as a safe, fair, and inclusive environment for all participants.
Protecting Water Polo Together
Sport should be a safe and fair place for everyone. We provide a secure platform for individuals to raise concerns about behaviour they've witnessed or experienced, and to seek guidance on integrity-related matters.
YOUR SAFETY IS OUR FIRST CONCERN. If you are in immediate danger or at risk of harm, call your local law enforcement agency or dial triple zero (000).
Understanding Sport Integrity
Sport integrity can be compromised by various threats, including:
- Competition manipulation and sports gambling
- Doping and improper use of drugs and medicine
- Discriminatory or abusive behaviors that impact positive sport experiences
- Any conduct that undermines the safety of participants, especially children
Integrity in sport ensures that all participants, officials, supporters, and fans can enjoy their involvement in water polo within a safe, fair, and inclusive environment.
All members and participants have a responsibility to protect and maintain sport integrity, as well as the health and wellbeing of everyone involved.
We work in close collaboration with Sport Integrity Australia, the national coordination agency for sport integrity threats. For more information, visit the
Sport Integrity Australia website.
