WATER POLO NSW UNVEILS NEW STRATEGIC PLAN 2025–2032
CONNECT – ACTIVATE – THRIVE
Water Polo NSW (WPNSW) today launched its Strategic Plan 2025–2032: Connect – Activate – Thrive, setting out a bold vision for a connected, inclusive water polo community that champions excellence and inspires future generations.
The plan has been co-designed with the water polo community across NSW, with valuable input from clubs, associations, participants, and partners. WPNSW has also worked closely with Water Polo Australia (WPA) to ensure alignment of goals and aspirations.
Built around three key horizons on the journey to Brisbane 2032, the plan provides a roadmap for growth and sustainability:
• Horizon 1: CONNECT (2025–2027)
• Horizon 2: ACTIVATE (2027–2029)
• Horizon 3: THRIVE (2029–2032)
Four strategic pillars — Membership and Operations, Participation, Performance Pathways, and Sustainable Success — will guide delivery across these horizons.
Working Together
Water Polo NSW President Lisa May said the strategy is about much more than growth — it’s about passion and connection.
“At its heart, this plan is about sparking and sustaining a lifelong love of water polo. Whether you’re pulling on the cap for the first time, volunteering poolside, coaching, or competing at the highest level, this is a sport that brings joy, pride, and belonging. Together, with our values of Respect, Integrity, Curiosity, Excellence, Resilience, Joy, and Pride, we’re creating opportunities for every member of our community to connect, to thrive, and to carry that love of water polo through every stage of life.”
Chief Executive Officer Lucy Warhurst said the organisation’s ambition is clear: to set new standards, achieve bold KPIs, and ensure sustainable growth.
“We believe in this strategy, in the values that drive it, and in the people who will bring it to life. Together, we will build a thriving future for water polo in NSW.”
Our Future, Our Community
This plan is a collective commitment to everyone who makes water polo strong — athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, partners, parents, friends, and fans. Together, we will build a thriving future for water polo in NSW.
