SUPER LEAGUE WEEK FOUR ROUND-UP
Our inter-state and international teams spent their second weekend competing in week four of Water Polo NSW’s Super League 2025-26.There’s no change at the top of either table with Sydney Uni and UTS Balmain still on 100% win rate in the women’s and UNSW Wests Magpies, Cronulla and Drummoyne with the same in the men’s.
Women
UTS Balmain 23 – 4 UNSW Wests Killer Whales
UTS Balmain had two strong performances over the weekend, one which was against UNSW Wests Killer Whales on Saturday afternoon at Ryde Aquatic Centre.
Olivia Mitchell was UTS Balmain’s standout top scorer hitting the net seven times, adding to the four scored the previous day against New Zealand.
Christina DiGiandomenico, Tayla Dawkins and Sophie Pethers all also scored a hattrick.
UNSW Wests 4 – 14 New Zealand
New Zealand got a convincing win over UNSW Wests on Friday evening.
Kate Henderson and Erika Patterson both scored a hattrick for New Zealand, with Abbey Keyte, Ellie Millard and Sophie O’Leary all scoring a brace.
UNSW Wests will be looking for their second win of the season next week against Drummoyne.
Drummoyne 20 – 9 New Zealand
Drummoyne continued their ongoing winning streak against New Zealand.
Hungarian Dorottya Telek was once again Drummyone’s top scorer, scoring eight goals, taking her to a total of 24 goals for the season.
Stela Lovrinovic Kaic and Lucinda Gillis scored hattricks.
Men
UTS Balmain 7 – 25 UNSW Wests
UNSW Wests continued their winning streak with a strong game against UTS Balmain.
Nicolas Constantin-Bicari was the top scorer for UNSW Wests, scoring five goals, making him top scorer of the league with 20 goals.
Angus Lambie was not far behind scoring four goals, and Savo Todic scored a hattrick.
New Zealand 13 – 15 Singapore
New Zealand and Singapore met twice over the weekend, both resulting in close games and Singapore coming away with the wins.
Kelly McDowell andShaunn Blasius Jun Jie Lok both scored four goals for their respective clubs to make it such a nail-biting game.
Hamish Hegarty scored a hattrick, taking him up to 11 goals for the season so far.
Both teams now have a few weeks off, and will be back in March.
Sydney Uni 26 – 10 Hunter Hurricanes
Sydeny Uni put on a dominant win over Hunter Hurricanes at Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre on Saturday afternoon.
Bruno Bobic and Khai Zenith were the top scorerswith four goals for their teams.
Hattricks came from Jamie Sharman, Campbell Warren, Thomas Oates, Hamish Ellison for Sydney Uni and Hunter Wright for Hunter Hurricanes, who will be looking for their first win in their next match on Saturday against Cronulla.
