Water Polo NSW invites nominations for two elected Director positions on its Board, with the election to be conducted at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 19 December 2026.

Each position carries a three-year term, commencing at the conclusion of the 2026 AGM, subject to the Constitution.

The Board provides strategic leadership and oversight of Water Polo NSW. We encourage eligible members who can contribute their skills, experience and commitment to the development of water polo across NSW to consider nominating.

Eligibility

Under the current Water Polo NSW Constitution, nominees must:

• Be an Individual Member of Water Polo NSW and have been an Individual Member for at least one year immediately before the notice of the AGM.

• Have current knowledge of and involvement in water polo.

• Be able to fulfil any applicable role or skills requirements determined by the Board.

• Agree to act independently and in the interests of Water Polo NSW as a whole.

• Meet the Constitution’s eligibility and term-limit requirements.

Nominees must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest, including positions held with a Region or Club and any employment with a Region, Club, Water Polo Australia or Water Polo NSW. A person elected to the Board cannot remain a Region or Club Delegate.

How to nominate

Nominations must:

• Be submitted in writing, using the prescribed nomination form if applicable.

• Be signed by two persons, each of whom is a Delegate, office bearer or Life Member.

• Include the nominee’s signed consent confirming their willingness to accept the position.

• Include the required conflict-of-interest disclosures and any supporting information prescribed by the Board.

Nominees are also invited to provide a brief statement outlining their relevant experience, skills and reasons for seeking election, for circulation to members.

Nominations must be received by 5.00 pm AEDT on Saturday, 21 November 2026.

If more than two valid nominations are received, an election by ballot will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution. If two or fewer valid nominations are received, the nominees remain subject to approval by a majority of members entitled to vote.
