Water Polo NSW is committed to supporting the clubs and volunteer directors who make our sport possible at the community level.

The decisions made by volunteer directors shape the experience of every player, coach, and family involved in water polo across NSW. We are committed to ensuring those decisions are made with integrity, care, and a clear understanding of each director's responsibilities - while recognising the significant time and effort our volunteers already contribute.

It is designed as a practical, accessible resource to simplify governance responsibilities, reduce uncertainty, and support confident decision-making, not to add to the workload of already busy volunteers. It covers the principles of good governance, the legal duties of directors, effective meeting practice, ethical conduct, and risk management — providing clear guidance and tools that directors can rely on in their day-to-day roles.

Water Polo NSW encourages all club directors to engage with this resource in a way that suits their time and needs.
